The Bulletin Edition # 03

The newsletter from CCIPV - 22 Aug 2022

The Bulletin Edition is a weekly newsletter from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Portugal - Vietnam that provides a well-appointed briefing on the latest news, offering a unique and informed view and a swathe of recommendations from our experts about Vietnam and Portugal. We provide industry insights and considered reporting from across both countries. Stay informed and inspired with our bulletin.

Welcome to the last but one issue of The Bulletin Edition of August!

We start with the Vietnamese economy. According to Michael Kokalari, chief economist at VinaCapital, one of the country’s leading investment management and real estate development companies, Vietnam is likely to grow 10% year on year in the third quarter of this year, driven by strong domestic consumption.

Last Wednesday, the deputy industry minister said that Vietnam will need an investment of between $8 billion and $14 billion a year through 2030 to develop new power plants and expand its

grid. It is an optimum opportunity for European/Portuguese FDI.

In regards to food regulations and food safety, you can read here the latest amends, supplements and repeals of several legal Vietnamese documents, notified by WTO on July 29 to Vietnam.

If your intention is to visit Vietnam soon, do not miss here the most relevant information on getting electronic visas for smooth entry.

Last, but not least, the Portuguese Grand Prix will be the opening event of the 2023 Motorcycle World Speed Championship, with the MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 categories. Will be a good opportunity to visit Portugal.

Warm regards.
