October remained a dynamic and eventful month for the Chamber of Commerce Portugal - Vietnam (CCIPV). We organized a splendid European Night networking event in collaboration with BeluxCham, while our chairman, along with the team actively participated in numerous European-related events. Our commitment to fostering collaboration between Europe and Vietnam is going strong, and we are eager to continue making a meaningful impact.
1. CCIPV Chairman Spoke at the Vietnam Green Building Week 2023
On 28 Sep 2023, CCIPV Chairman Sergio D. Silva delivered great insights on how the government can accelerate the green transition to meet the 2050 goals at the Plenary Session of the Vietnam Green Building Week 2023.
The session was hosted by Nguyen Tuong Van, Deputy Minister of Construction, and Bui Xuan Cuong, Vice-Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee. Speakers included representatives from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the Asian Development Bank (ADB), and the World Green Building Council, who emphasized Vietnam’s commitment to having 50% of new buildings certified as green by 2050.
2. CCIPV as part of the EuroCham’s Construction Committee Launch: A Blaze Of Fire Safety Discuss
On 5 Oct 2023, CCIPV Chairman Sergio D. Silva, under his hat as the Head of the Sustainable Buildings Working Group of EuroCham’s Green Growth Sector Committee were invited to EuroCham's new sector committee on Construction-related industry.
The Construction Sector Committee’s mission is to raise voices for a stable regulatory framework; promote best practices, enhance skills, and facilitate international standards, contributing to the sustainable development of the construction industry in Vietnam. With that, we prioritize advocacy work and strive to foster partnerships and relationships with the Vietnamese Government through government meetings, dialogues, and technical conferences.
3. CCIPV at the European Pork | the smart choice event
Head of Rep. Office in Vietnam Lan Phan joined the Viet Nam's session of the European Pork event this October at Sofitel HCMC. The occasion is a wonderful experience where European made pork is highlighted as the smart choice for all.
The EU is the second pork producer and the largest exporter of pork and pork products in the world. This was achieved thanks to their strong foundations of pig farming and utmost standards in sustainability, food safety, animal welfare, traceability, quality, and taste, features observed throughout the whole production process to ensure the interest and health of consumers
4. CCIPV and BeluxCham's European Night Oct'23
On October 17, 2023, CCIPV and BeluxCham organized a delightful gathering for our members, themed "European Night." With over 50 participants, the event provided a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for forging new business connections or simply enjoying the evening with friends.
