Vila Vita Parc resort, in Porches, received two international awards for its two Michelin-star Ocean restaurant, distinguished on Monday with “The Global Restaurant of the Year 2021” and “Best Locally Sourced Produce Menu”, by the renowned The World Luxury Awards.
The World Luxury Awards recognise establishments for world-class service excellence. Awards are presented on a country, regional, continent and global basis. Winners are selected by public vote online, providing true recognition that reflects the hard work and dedication exhibited by staff.
“We congratulate this year’s winners. True luxury is not easily attained. It takes highly efficient and dedicated staff who are willing to go the extra mile and stop at nothing to ensure that every guest feels cared for and that no challenge goes unresolved. This is the definition of luxury. It is what makes the winners shine,” says The World Luxury Awards Marketing Director, Michael Hunter-Smith.
This high distinction is based on the work developed by Chef Hans Neuner, who this year proposes a menu inspired by the islands of the Azores, Madeira and São Tomé. “It is an invitation to sail among traditional dishes, typical ingredients, also underlining the richness of flavours brought by the Portuguese caravels and the gastronomic influences that remained in each island until today,” says the resort.
The tasting menu respects the seasonality of the products, not only because it is a part of Vila Vita Parc’s sustainable philosophy, but also for the guarantee of quality and authenticity of flavours.
The wine pairing is headed by Ricardo Rodrigues, who handpicks a curated selection of Portuguese wines, as well as International wines, “preferring limited and exclusive productions, providing unique opportunities for the connoisseurs and gourmands”.
