EUROCHAM EGM and AGM 2022

EuroCham Vietnam, which CCIPV is a Business Association affiliate, held its EGM and AGM on the 17th March 2022.

The evening featured a speech given by H.E. Giorgio Aliberti, EU Ambassador to Vietnam, who stressed that green economic development in Vietnam is a massive area for Europe-Vietnam trade growth and that GEFE 2022 will play an essential role in Vietnam's green transition.

Throughout the night, EuroCham's Executive Committee members highlighted 2021's successes and achievements, namely in the fields of advocacy, events and communications. Here are some of the highlights of what was mentioned:

EuroCham presented a consistent source of dialogue with the government regarding its members’ concerns, even during the height of the pandemic, with regular meetings, communications and seminars.

The Executive Committee members were especially pleased with EuroCham's role in Vietnam Business Forum (VBF) 2021 and into the future with VBF 2022. EuroCham is serving as a co-chair of VBF 2022, with Executive Committee member Mr. Soren Roed Pedersen serving as EuroCham's co-chair to the VBF. He offered some remarks about his plans for a strategic restructuring of the VBF for 2022 in order to make it more agile in its service to the business community and its communication with the government.

EuroCham's Executive Committee members also expressed their satisfaction with Chairman Alain Cany and Vice-Chairman Minh Nguyen's participation as part of Vietnam's delegation to COP26 and during Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's official state visit to France.

EuroCham kept our members informed with regular COVID updates, namely about vaccinations and pandemic-related policies. Informational webinars held for our members included various high-level health sector stakeholders.

EuroCham's Breathe Again Vietnam campaign to procure essential medical equipment for Vietnam was a huge success, raising a grand total of nearly 1.5 million Euros. We would like to thank all of our members for their contributions to this fund as well as for their direct contributions to the Vietnamese government.

Even with the pandemic and its corresponding lockdown, EuroCham hosted more than 50 webinars and events with more than 5,000 participants, either online or in-person, with the hallmark events being our Meet Europe & Whitebook 2021 Launch, as well as European Night's slate of events including our Business Resilience Awards and Gala Dinner.

The MarCom and Special Events team has been hard at work preparing EuroCham's new website, which is due to launch at the end of March. This website will provide members with a more user-friendly experience, give members the opportunity for instant dialogue with our team, and provide a streamlined registration and payment system for EuroCham events, membership dues and marketing services.

EuroCham upgraded the headcount of the EuroCham team to improve internal and external communications and develop a stronger operational team, complete with several new hires in leadership roles. These new team members have contributed so much to our operational capacity and will help launch EuroCham to new heights in 2022.

EuroCham's team began organizing GEFE 2022 and will continue to promote this event at every given opportunity in order to get out the word and bring sustainable European solutions to Vietnam with a multitude of stakeholders as a full Team Europe initiative. To bring this event to its fullest potential, several new team members were added to our team, including GEFE Project Manager Yasmina Depas.
