CCIPV's Chairman attended the launching ceremony of Vietnam’s first World Trade Center

The WTC Expo is awaiting its launching on August 8 will serve as Vietnam’s first World Trade Center and provide international one-stop MICE facilities.

World Trade Center - WTC Binh Duong New City Expo, it will offer an ideal platform to the Asian MICE communities for some of the largest trade shows, events and exhibitions. Sprawling over 165,000 sq m of area, WTC Expo was established at the heart of Vietnam’s first-ever World Trade Complex in the Binh Duong province. The property is well equipped with upscale infrastructure and advanced network connectivity to the surroundings. The premise has plans to set up residential and commercial buildings, shopping malls, multipurpose stadiums and a metro station- all connecting the MICE venue to Ho Chi Minh City.

WTC Expo specializes in hosting MICE-related events with its column-free facility. Its total construction area includes an indoor exhibition area of 15,000 sq m and three halls. As an emerging MICE destination in Southeast Asia, the new exhibition centre is gaining momentum. Although Vietnam records the world’s highest economic growth, it lacks facilities for hosting international MICE events. Accordingly, WTC Expo is expected to resolve supply shortage issues for exhibition facilities.

Located in Vietnam’s Southern Key Economic Region, Binh Duong Province serves as an economic powerhouse. It has more than 4,000 FDI projects in the province and invested a total of nearly 40 billion USD. It records the highest per capita monthly income in Vietnam with a figure of over VND7, 120,000 in 2021.

The province of Binh Duong emerged from the notion of an “innovation region” which houses universities, hospitals, residential complexes and other social infrastructure. It also has more than 30 large-scale industrial parks. Earlier, in Vietnam, there has been a business entry barrier for overseas MICE planners that was driven by complicated administrative procedures in applying for licenses pertaining to the exhibition. However, as the WTC Binh Duong New City emerged, the procedure is now easier as they provide a one-stop service for the foreign organisers to host their events at the WTC Expo.

Besides, the WTC Expo also has partnerships with foreign organizers who wish to stretch their influence in Vietnam, but do not have a sales department in the country. The property also provides allied services in administrative procedures and market research by collaborating with various government agencies when the foreign organizers plan to host their events at the WTC Expo. This partnership between the government agencies and the MICE planners helps support the local sales activities of the organizers and on-site operations and reduces the risks of organising exhibitions for the foreign MICE planners.

Built by the Becamex IDC, the WTC Expo is the latest exhibition facility and one of Vietnam’s prominent industrial and urban real estate developers. It is managed by the WTC Binh Duong Co. Ltd which is a subsidiary of the Becamex IDC.
